If you're looking for a small western cowtown with character,
as well as ready access to world-class flyfishing, wilderness
hiking and a host of other outdoor activities, Ennis will meet
your needs.
Just an hour from the Bozeman airport, Ennis is the heart of
the Madison Valley. The Madison River runs through town, and
several fly shops offer excellent guide service on the river
and on other nearby blue-ribbon fisheries. Yellowstone Park
is an easy day trip, and historic Virginia City, with its summer
theater, is a twenty minute drive.
If you're a hiker or want to try a horseback trip, the Lee Metcalf
Wilderness is where you'll find a spectacular high-country experience.
And not to be overlooked in and around Ennis are the many interesting
shops and art galleries, as well as the Continental Divide,
a nationally-noted gourmet restaurant. |

people. |

There is public access to
the Madison River at Varney Bridge just below the house.
You can float the river (there are plenty of local guides),
but wade fishing is available as well. |
